Conditions of sale

The conditions shown below are the most current and replace any written conditions previously issued!

1. We, the company, guarantees your new door (the goods) against faulty material or manufacture, for a period not exceeding twelve calendar months from the supply date provided you comply fully with the company’s recommended procedures set out below and provided also that the company is not held liable for any damage or defect resulting from wear and tear or unreasonable usage.

2. Every effort is made to supply you with the correct door in perfect condition. It is possible, on occasion, that errors can be made or the goods are not up to standard. You must examine the goods immediately on delivery and if the goods are found to be defective the company must be notified in writing/email within three working days. No claims will be entertained after this period. If any item has been delivered damaged, you must refuse delivery or sign the delivery note as "GOODS DAMAGED" as failure to do so will invalidate any claim for replacement/refund. By altering, fitting or adjusting the goods in any way, we shall deem you to have accepted the goods as supplied. The company’s liability in respect of the goods is in any event limited to the purchase price of the defective item. We will not be held responsible for bad workmanship applied to any of our products. The company will not accept differences in the grain of the timbers used in the manufacture of the goods to be classed as defects. WE CANNOT REPLACE FAULTY GOODS IF ANY ALTERATION HAS BEEN CARRIED OUT. AND/OR FITTED, THIS IS WITHOUT EXCEPTION!

3. Ownership of the goods remains with company until the purchase price has been paid in full and, until payment has been made in full you hold the goods on trust for the company who may repossess and sell or use the goods without any liability to you and at any time until payment has been made in full. For this purpose the company may enter any premises of yours or occupied by you.

4. The company will not guarantee any knotty pine or redwood pine door against splitting, warping and or swelling.

5. Small surface cracks in the timber are quite normal and will not be considered as defects.

6. Goods that have been incorrectly ordered by the customer and that have already been either received by the customer, or are ready for despatch to the customer and needs to be exchanged for goods of the correct size/design will be subject to a restocking fee of 20%. (ALL ironmongary has a re-stocking fee of 30%). Delivery charges will also be made should the goods need to be collected/delivered/exchanged on site.

7. All goods that have been manufactured to the customers specification and that have already been either received by the customer or where manufacturing has commenced will be subject to payment in full.

8.  The company will not guarantee, exchange or refund any goods that have been sold as ex display, discontinued, clearance or  damaged.

9. Our timber doors are not designed for direct contact with rain. We recommend that a suitable overhang or porch be used as protection. No claim under warranty will be entertained due to moisture ingress as a result of direct water contact.

10. Due to environmental awareness and in the interest of continued improvement, we reserve the right to include engineered components in some or all of the doors we offer!

11. We reserve the right to alter, amend or discontinue any product/price without further notification.

12. The company recommend the following procedures: 

· The goods are standard doors and are delivered direct to the company from the manufactures/importers. They are, therefore sold in their natural state. All surfaces, front, back, all four edges and all cut-outs (letter plates, locks, hinges etc) must be treated with a minimum of four coats of a branded paint/woodstain. We do not recommend any form of varnish, oil or any water based product, and will not guarantee the doors if used. All doors must be fully treated before they are finally fitted. The company use and recommend SADOLIN.

· Timber is a naturally grown product and is subject to change due to differences in humidity and temperature. It is vital, therefore, that you pay particular attention to the top and bottom of the door and all end grain panels where the end grain is exposed  in full and therefore, under threat from moisture which can cause swelling, splitting and/or warping. The opening of joints can also occur in the most severe cases.

· Locks must never be fitted to a rail joint as this will weaken the door and will cause the joint to open.  ALL DOORS MUST BE FULLY SEALED BEFORE FITTING!
